I am taking a Leave No Trace trainer course. Much of the coursework is common sense, but even the perfect environmentalist who takes this course will learn something new.
The nucleus of Leave No Trace is 7 Principles: 1. Plan Ahead and Prepare. 2. Travel & Camp on Durable Surfaces. 3. Dispose of Waste Properly. 4. Leave What You Find. 5. Minimize Campfire Impacts. 6. Respect Wildlife. 7. Be Considerate of Other Visitors. Again, it’s common sense, but it’s still a good reminder of what to do in nature (and even in your own backyard.)
If you’re interested in learning some basic knowledge, try out this 45-minute online awareness course. Afterward, you could consider signing up for a trainer course if you’d like to gain a deeper understanding.
Consider becoming a member to support the cause.
