I had a lot of New Year’s Resolutions this year! Here’s an update:
Volunteering: I want to volunteer at least twice a month in 2020: once each month at the animal shelter, and one additional time. In February, I volunteered for a race for the first time. Volunteering at a race is more fun than running: it’s less painful, it’s free, and you often get a free t-shirt and food! Additionally, I attended training so I can volunteer for a Triangle Land Conservancy, and I volunteered with them. Finally, I attended a volunteer event for a presidential candidate, and I planned to volunteer for this candidate [unfortunately, she dropped out of the race].
Donations: I want to donate to 2-3 different causes each month. So far in 2020, I’ve donated 8 friend’s causes on Facebook. It’s all about consistency!
Leadership: I want to lead a Meetup at least once a month. I am now an organizer for a writing meetup, and I’m leading a twice-a-month event.
Reading: I want to read at least 15 books in 2020. So far, I’ve read 7.
Friends: I want to spend time with small groups of friends and go to fewer parties. Last year, I went to several big parties and I never felt satisfied. This year, I’m hanging out with small groups (4 or less) friends on a more consistent basis.
Variety: The past few years, I’ve been focused heavily on saving money. In 2020, I want to attend at least one fun entertainment event per month, even if it costs money. I’ve attended several, already!
I have other goals, but these are the ones that I’ve been the most successful with so far!
Have a baybay! That’s a goal!
