I wrote a massive post about Chicken Salad #4, the Market Salad, but then I had computer issues and lost the entire post. Oh well, no worries, I didn’t lose much.
Today we were wandering around Knightdale, and we decided to try out the Chick-fil-A drive-thru, something I’ve never experienced before. There are two types of people: those who love Chick-fil-A and the rest of us. I fall in the rest of us category.
The drive-thru looked like a mess, but it was much faster than I expected, considering how many people were waiting for their Saturday lunch chicken.
I ordered the Market Chicken Salad. It was $9.45. It came with lots of fruit and good chicken breast, not the pink slime stuff that other restaurants pass off as chicken.
It also came with these strange packets that would go great on oatmeal but not on a salad. Who puts granola on a salad?
All in all, it was a great salad. But I don’t go to Chick-fil-A often, maybe once every two years. I think I had this salad once before, like five years ago or something. It has quite improved in quality since then.
I left with so many take-out bags, which I found annoying—so much trash and waste for a few pieces of lettuce and some chicken. That’s another reason I don’t get fast-food very often.
It was fun to try, but I don’t need to go back. That’s ok – many people think Chick-fil-A is made by their god. I guess, in some sense, it is.
