A year ago, around the holidays, I had some idle time off of work, so I started getting rid of clothing that I didn’t wear, Marie Kondo style!
I’ve bought a lot of clothes over the years. However, I have been unable to wear most of it.
I have a sensitivity to many fabrics. I cannot wear anything that’s even 1% wool because it’s itchy. Most pants are uncomfortable and make me “feel fat,” aka “bloated,” even though I wear a size 4. In the past, I didn’t even wear 90% of what was in my closet. I’ve gotten rid of everything that I don’t wear.
Post-purge, it’s such a luxury to look through my roomy closet find something to wear. I have three expensive bras, underwear without holes, and I’ve thrown out all of my socks that felt itchy. Now, I only own what I wear!
I bought 3 pairs of the same shoes. Same with pants. I’ve recently discovered Eileen Fisher pants, which are very expensive, but superbly comfortable. I also wear clothing from Chicos. I may dress like an old lady, but at least I’m comfortable!
