My next Not Dollar Tree Dining post is about jewelry. I’ll admit: I am rather neglectful with my jewelry. For many years (decades even), my jewelry boxes have been a tangled mess of: half-ass jewelry I’ve made, a few nice pieces, and a big, ugly pile of costume jewelry.
I haven’t worn much jewelry in awhile, but I have a new goal of wearing a necklace every day. I don’t tend to wear jewelry unless it means something to me, so I wanted to make it easier to find my favorite pieces.
So, I sorted through my jewelry! I donated about 80% of my costume jewelry to charity. The valuable stuff that I don’t think I’ll wear got put into a safe. If I don’t specifically see myself wearing a piece within the next year, then it’s no longer in my jewelry box.
Each piece remaining in my jewelry box either means something to me, or is exceptionally wearable and organized. Now, charms are matched to chains, and everything has a place. Currently, I’m wearing a bear necklace that my boyfriend got me in Alaska last summer. I’ve been wearing it for a couple of days.
