Bless this Frozen Bagged Chicken

For my next rating project, I’m rating frozen breaded chicken. They all tasted great! The differences between the products were subtle and hard to detect when I was starving and shoving food in my mouth. Here we go!

Score: 3.2 out of 5

#5 Fast Fixin’ Chicken Nuggets were on sale for $2.45 at LIDL. The package bragged “30 or more crispy nuggets,” but there were 43 greasy nuggets in the bag. At 220 calories and 13 grams of fat per serving, you might want to cook them on a paper towel to remove some of the grease. They aren’t bad for what they are. I wouldn’t chose them over Tyson chicken because the long ingredient list frightens me.

Score: 3.5 out of 5

#4 Tyson Fun Nuggets cost around $4.89 at LIDL or Walmart. These nuggets are shaped like dinosaurs! They are good, but they have too much back-end flavor. They might have too much seasoning, which is a weird thing for me to say. But they aren’t terrible.

Score: 4.0 out of 5

#3 The Tyson crispy chicken strips are the gold standard of frozen breaded chicken. These aren’t cheap! You probably won’t find them for less than $7. This chicken has a good texture: it’s not pink slime. It loses points for having more cholesterol and being less heart healthy than the Tyson air fried nuggets, and also it’s greasy. You may need a paper towel to sop up the extra grease!

Score: 4.2 out of 5

#2 The Tyson Air Fried nuggets cost around $6.00. They are low calorie but they still taste great. The texture of the chicken is reminiscent of pink slime, but the breading makes you forget that. Don’t dissect these nuggets. They are high protein, low calorie, low fat, low cholesterol, and heart healthy!

Score: 4.4 out of 5

Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner! #1 Kirkwood Crispy chicken strips. These chicken strips are $4.49 at Aldi, and they are the best! They have a good texture, even when they are cooked in the microwave. They are also a bit spicy! They’re crispy but not greasy, and I like the breading. This chicken has a lot of substance!
