Dollar Tree Dining #39

I went into Dollar Tree with low expectations. I was worried I was running out of material. The store was mostly full of Christmas decorations, but I found a few new foods to try:

Yes, that’s a Brighton handbag underneath my DTD loot.

I am not a huge fan of tapioca pudding or flan, but these desserts are good, and they have decent ingredients. They are low in calories for their size.

The tapioca pudding is milky and tastes more like rice pudding than what I’d expect tapioca to taste like. It’s not something I’d eat every day, but it’s not bad!

At $1 (instead of like $6 at a restaurant), the flan is more tasty than a typical restaurant’s version. The texture is firmer than normal flan, which is probably why it’s moderately edible. EDIT: HOW DID I NOT NOTICE the High Fructose Corn Syrup on the ingredients list?! I’m failing on the job, here. I have ONE RULE in the crap I buy: NO HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP!

Why do they have to be gross?!

These nail polish kits look fun for Halloween. Nail polish shades are intriguing. Even back in my 20’s, I didn’t wear red nail polish because it reminded me of grandma, but nails that alternate black and red might be fun. Diverse shades of nail polish – blues, purples, silvers, etc. – have become more professionally acceptable, which is great!

That’s all for next week. Maybe next week I’ll buy some Christmas decor (yeah, right!)
